For the NPA Access to Music Performing, the students will complete 3 SCQF  Level 6 units. Across these 3 units the students will learn skills and gain  valuable experience relating to music performance, instrument technique and  practice routines, composing/writing music, project planning and self evaluation.
Over 120 hours, students will:
  • Receive guidance and tutoring from music industry professionals to       achieve both the academic and the instrument-specific aims of the  course.
  • Have the chance to perform both solo and as part of a band/group.
  • Compose and perform your own original music.
  • Have access to excellent music rehearsal facilities.
  • Develop your planning and critical thinking skills.
The course will culminate in a final day performance event where each student  will showcase their skills performing both solo and with their group. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded an SQA  certificate of NPA Music Performing. This is an ideal qualification for  progression to HNC level music courses.
