At Brick Lane Music Academy CIC, we specialise in providing fun, but structured sessions and workshops exclusively for children aged 3 – 12 years old.
We offer schools, nurseries and early years settings, regular weekly classes, themed workshops, staff training and afterschool clubs.
Our Kodaly based programme supports all four capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence 3-18 Broad General Curriculum, encouraging children to be:
- Successful Learners
- Confident Individuals
- Responsible Citizens
- Effective contributors
Using singing games, puppets, parachute and lycra activities and percussion instruments, our sessions offer young children the opportunity to gain a thorough grounding in the basic musical concepts of beat, rhythm and pitch and develop skills in a fun and exciting way, helping to build confidence, improve concentration, promote creativity and develop social skills. We also introduce instruments such as ukulele and boomwhackers within our sessions and can create a bespoke programme to suit the needs of the organisation.
Our age-appropriate sessions are tailored to support the Experiences and Outcomes from the Expressive Arts curriculum.
- Early level: Age 3 to P1
- First level: P2, P3, P4
- Second level: P5, P6, P7
“Through music, learners have rich opportunities to be creative and to experience inspiration and enjoyment. Performing and creating music will be the prominent activities for all learners. Through these activities they develop their vocal and instrumental skills, explore sounds and musical concepts, and use their imagination and skills to create musical ideas and compositions. They can further develop their understanding and capacity to enjoy music through listening to musical performances and commenting on them”
Regular Weekly classes
We lead classes for up to 20 children aged 3- 5 years
and up to 30 children in Primary 1-7
We also deliver the sessions to After School Clubs and other Community Organisations
Our 1 hour sessions can also be split in to 2 x ½ hour classes, so that more children can benefit.
- One off 1hour taster session – £80
- Block of 6 – 1 hour a week costs £420 (£70 per week)
- Block of 10 – 1 hour a week costs £650 (£65 per week)
Themed Group Workshops and Staff Training Sessions
We offer Bespoke themed workshops for up to 30 children, as well as staff training sessions.
- Workshops 1 hour in length – £100
- Half day £170 (2 workshops)
- Full Day £300 (4 workshops)
